The Rheinhessen is one of Germany’s most diverse wine regions in terms of styles of wine and varities of grapes produced, inclduing Riesing, Spatburgunder, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Sylvaner, Dornfelder and more. Fritz Josef Schwibinger of Weingut Schwibinger in the town of Nierstein explains the region. He sat down with Ask a Winemaker in 2009.
