you will need:
5 gallon (23-25 litre) fermenting Bin
hydrometer and test jar
airlock and bored rubber/cork bung
long handled plastic spoon
sanitizer (of your choice e.g.: VWP)
large pan (preferably Stainless Steel)
plastic funnel
glass thermometer
ingredients for approx. 5 gals of wine:
5 litres apple juice
5 litres exotic fruit drink or similar (if you can get pure white grape juice then even better!!!)
1 sachet general purpose wine yeast (enough for 5 gals)
Yeast Nutrient – 5 tsp
Citric acid- 5tsp
3.5 to 3.8 kilos of white granulated sugar (dependent on your SG)
If the temperature of your room is less than 65 F then I’d recommend using a heater tray to ensure constant temperature during fermentation.
This wine should be ready to drink within approx. 3-4 weeks depending on fermentation, and how rapidly it clears. It will store for about a year but is not meant for long term storage.
