Check this Unique wine recipe made up of Black Tulsi/Holy Basil. Black Tulsi is famous for its medicinal properties and has been used for thousands of years in Ayurveda for its diverse healing properties. In this recipe, we have convert the traditional medicinal herb into wine by combining it with jaggery as sweetener, spices like cardamom, cloves and cinnamon stick and used whole wheat for fermentation.

INGREDIENTS:

Tulsi leaves and flower – 100 grms
Water – 3 cups(750 ml)
Jaggery – 1 cup(powdered)
Cinnamon stick – 3 pcs
Cloves – 6 pcs
Green cardamom – 3 pcs
Whole wheat – 2 tsp

Method of preparing Tulsi wine:

1. Place a vessel on medium flame, add 500 ml water and add washed tulsi into it.
2. Let it boil for 10 minutes. Then turn off the flame and let it cool completely.
3. Transfer boiled tulsi and water into a clean container, add jaggery, pounded cinnamon stick, cloves, green cardamom and whole wheat into it.
4. Cover the lid tightly and place the container in dark place for 3 days to get ferment.
5. After 3 days, strain all the content, add jaggery and dilute usind boiled and cooled water.
6. Transfer the wine into a glass container, cover the lid tightly and place it in dark place for 3 days to get ferment.
7. After 3 days, tulsi wine is ready to serve.
