The perfect Steak in Red Wine Sauce
Classic steak in red wine sauce prepared the French way, with verve, panache and a complete focus on flavour, also includes how to use your thumb to test if the steak is rare, medium or well cooked.
Sacre Bleu!
The steak is pan-fried with shallot, garlic (whole in the skin but lightly crushed) and some thyme. Then as they cook deglaze the pan with red wine, beef stock and finish with some hard butter (Monte au beurre)
Plate up and simply garnish with watercress – enjoy!
