One of the most common tapas of Spain, gambas al ajillo is quick, easy and FULL of garlic flavor. It’s truly a classic tapa. Fresh shrimp, sauteed in olive oil and lots of garlic, with a touch of lemon juice and a splash of sweet white wine or Martini all combine to create one of the most popular tapas.
Your guests will be asking for the recipe after the first shrimp, and only you will know how simple it was to prepare. This shrimp dish is always on the menu when we invite friends over, and there are never leftovers.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
20 shrimps
4 large cloves of garlic, finely minced
1/2 a glass of sweet white wine or Martini / Cinzano
1/2 cup of virgin olive oil
3 tsp chopped fresh cilantro
1 lemon for juice
Optional: 1 tsp cayenne pepper if you like them spicy.
Serve the shrimps on top of Crostini.
Crostini : Crostini is just a name for baguette slices that have been brushed with olive oil, garlic, fresh herbs, sprinkled with salt and pepper, and baked until golden (10 min in oven at 400 °F)
I wish you bon Appetit,
