When Joseph Carr wanted to create a second wine after his famed Napa Cabernet he worked with his winemaker Wayne Donaldson and sourced grapes from premium wine growing regions throughout California including Sonoma and Mendocino counties.

Lytton Springs is home to 100 plus-year-old zinfandel vines interplanted with Petite Sirah, Carignane, a small amount of Mataro (Mourvdre), and Grenache.
